While trying to save her brother from a witch’s fire four years ago, Greta was thrown in herself, falling through a portal to Mylena, a dangerous world where humans are the enemy and every ogre, ghoul, and goblin has a dark side that comes out with the eclipse.

To survive, Greta has hidden her humanity and taken the job of bounty hunter—and she’s good at what she does. So good, she’s caught the attention of Mylena’s young goblin king, the darkly enticing Isaac, who invades her dreams and undermines her will to escape.

But Greta’s not the only one looking to get out of Mylena. An ancient evil knows she’s the key to opening the portal, and with the next eclipse mere days away, every bloodthirsty creature in the realm is after her—including Isaac. If Greta fails, she and the lost boys of Mylena will die. If she succeeds, no world will be safe from what follows her back…

Greta and the Goblin King leaves a feeling or an impression of some of my fairy takes from when I was young ( I won’t mention which ones cause that will give it away). Even though it has some of these undertones the writing and storyline are still incredibly unique and intriguing from anything I have read lately. It was very different from what I had in my mind but in a good way.

Greta is a human girl who came through a magical portal while trying to save her younger brother from an Evil witch. Upon arriving in Mylena she is discovered by Luke, a sprite. Luke (even though it is not allowed) becomes her teacher, friend, protector and most importantly her family. Without Luke, Mylena would have been even more brutal to Greta and I don’t think she understand that until much to late.

Greta was a solid character and well developed but in my opinion there were holes that could have been filled. Also in my opinion the secondary characters were lacking in development and I honestly wished I would have been able to learn more about them.

The world Greta is thirst into is harsh, dismal and cold and you experience that as you turn the pages.

The beginning of this novel was a bit slow for me but once I got partially through it the past really picks up. The action and adventure will have you constantly turning the pages. The words will be pouring themselves off the pages enticing you to continue reading.

Overall Greta and the Goblin King was a good book and the end had me wanting for more.
